Over the past decade, Salesforce has grown from being just a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to a complete and robust technology platform. Through internal product innovations and tactical company acquisitions, Salesforce now offers premium tools and services for ANY company looking to streamline operations, grow internally, and move past their competition.
Throughout my career as a Salesforce Consultant, and now as the founder of CloudAlta, I have worked with many talented individuals and teams to bring innovative Salesforce solutions to companies of all sizes and industries. Some might think of Salesforce as something that only companies with Sales teams or that are part of the tech industry would buy. Because of this misconception, some of the companies that we’ve worked with might be considered unusual clients for us. These include clients from the following industries:
- Higher Education
- Commercial Real Estate
As I look back and debrief on the clients that CloudAlta and I have serviced over the years, I can’t help but think that the companies in the industries above have been some of the clients that have seen the most benefit from using Salesforce. Why is this the case? There’s a large number of reasons, but the top 3 that come to mind are:
- Salesforce as the ‘Source of Truth’ provides a huge benefit with companies with multiple departments
- Salesforce allows for integrations with many other popular software offerings
- Salesforce makes it easy to scale up and build on the platform if needed once it’s properly implemented
My team at CloudAlta loves to hear about uncommon use cases for Salesforce. As part of a company-wide initiative, we are starting a blog-series where we talk about uncommon industries, their challenges, and how Salesforce could provide firms in these industries a ton of value.
If you have any industries that fall into the ‘unusual’ category, feel free to reach out to me on Linkedin and I’d love to cover that industry in a future blog post.
First industry that we will cover: Attorney/Law Offices!
